Halo is a sci-fi game set in the year 2552.
In a war between multiple races, humanity desperatly struggles for survival against a formidable enemy 'the covenant'.
The leader of the covenant is the prophet of regret, there where three prophets at one time but the prophet of truth and mercy perished by the hand of a spartan named john.
Halo is another name for the forerunner ring's, which are scatterd around the universe.
WHAT ARE SPARTANS?
Spartans are an elite force of soldiers created by the UNSC ( United Nations Space Command)
by injecting a serum that boostes they're sense's, muscles, speed and nerve system.
The spartan III program is the new type of super spartan that was trained on a remote planet named onyx.

WHAT ARE THE RINGS
The rings are a massive super weapon built by an intelligent race of humanoid aliens 'the forerunners'.
They were built to contain the flood, but if the flood escaped the ring would be activated and destroy all life in the universe and the other rings would activate shortly after the first ring is activated.
But there is one thing about the rings, they don't kill the flood they kill they're food humans, covenant anything with enough mass to sustain the flood.

WHAT IS THE COVENANT?
The covenant is a mixed bunch of races sangheli (elites) , unogy (grunts), hunters,buggers,jackles,skirmishers and brutes.
the grunts are the main force, the elites aree the group leaders, hunters special forces who hunt in two's, brutes are another special force but weaker than the hunter and elite, buggers are a type of insect who are half the size of a human and are deadly in swarms,jackles carry energy sheilds and plasma pistols, skirmishers are distant cousins to the jackles but are much more adgile.
Yes, another enemy which is quite annoying is 'the flood'.
A parasitic life form that was being experimented on by forerunners.
The flood was under the highest containment in the universe but the covenant were exavating to find what they call the holy relic but once inside they took all the wrong doors and released the flood.
The forerunners knew they're time was near so they made AI's (Artificial Intelligence) called moniters, one for each halo ring, they repair and care for the rings and they're guarded by sentinels armed with sentinel beams.

The forerunners are a very intelligent race who were extremely cautious about anything they did or experimented on.
